Three years

Is a long time for anything. Especially a relationship. Such as one between a silly little boy named Joshua and this GORGEOUS girl named Megan. Haha. Anyways.

So, really long story short... We've been together for 3 years. That's like:

36 months
156 weeks
1096 days [There was a leap year I think.]
26304 hours
1278240 seconds

We've been apart for more than half of that. Thanks for that, btw, Army.
I'm crazy about the boy. He's one of my best friends. He knows me almost as well as my parents.

Great, now I'm sad. Whatev. I'm gonna go cheer myself up. Music time!!

Untitled...

So it's been a couple of days... And I haven't really had much of anything to write about... But now I do.

Recently, I found out that Josh's brother [Raf] got married. His wife's name is Britney. So, she's actually super cute. She seems really smiley. I like smiley people. And apparently she's going to make Josh an uncle. Awwwww, how cute, right?

And my house is freezing. Just thought I'd tell you that.
I have dance class today. It's the second class. It's really fun. Me and Myda are doing Polynesian Dance. We're gonna be shakin' our boooohoootyyyys.
Sorry, the Tyra show is kind of distracting me. I guess my life really isn't all that interesting today.

Over the weekend, me and my parents went to the Home&Garden Show out at Cal Expo. It was super fun. I bought 3 pairs of sunglasses. We bought some super tasty garlic mustard. I got to see the ShamWow people! I was super stoked. But even better than ShamWows are Super Absorbers!! It's like a brick of absorbing awesome-ness.

And now I'm going to put my dance class stuff together.

Oh, if you happen to be female and reading this, go to L' Occtaine and buy the Riz Rice facial stuff. It really works.

Love it.

Later.

Inauguration Day

Oh dear. It's been an insanely historic day in these here United States. My [awesome] advisory teacher asked me to help set up the watch party at the Guild Theater here in Sacramento. I got there at like 6. AM. Yeah. I wasn't exactly awake yet. But I had fun. The only Senate kids that were there helping set up were: me, Destinee, and Kathleen. But it was still fun. We blew up balloons, were on the news, and got to stay until after the party broke up. Also, I didn't have to go to school today. So me and Destinee went and got some food. I hope I remember what I saw for the rest of my life. It was crazy awesome. It didn't seem like it would actually happen. Like something would go wrong. But it didn't. Except for Roberts messing up the oath. My favorite part was when the Obamas took the Bushs to the helicopter to say their final goodbyes.

I hope Senator Kennedy is okay. That family has been through way too much to lose him. And my mom has met him, and it would just devaste her. And we can't let that happen.

So I'm watching Nightly News on NBC. And they're doing a recap of all of today's events. And they showed the door to the Cadillac limos the Obamas are going to use from now on. And that door was SOOOO thick. Like a foot thick. It must be heavy.

This lady just said that the day after Elecetion Day, she told her kids that "while they were asleep Mart Luther King's dream came true." I think it's really cool that he became President the day after MLK's birthday.

My mom noticed something- she didn't get to watch the inauguration live because she had to go to work- Clinton and Carter didn't even acknowledge each other. Jimmy Carter walked straight past him. Is there some sort of fight going on that I just don't know about?

His speech was amazing. Like, one of the best I've heard, and trust me... I listen to a lot of people talk.

I love having my DVR. I get to skip through the bad news [usually about the economy] and get back to the good news [about the new First Lady in this case]. Malia and Sasha are super cute. Today must seem to go on forever for them. Apparently M & S are staying "at home" [I put that in quotes because I'm not quite used to saying President Barack Obama yet] and their gonna watch movies with a bunch of their friends. I wonder if their close.

HE HAS HIS OWN ELEMENTRY SCHOOL NOW. It's called Barack Obama Elementry. I don't know where it is.

During part of the news, they showed troops at Camp Victory in Baghdad. I really wanted it to be Camp Loyalty. That's where the boyfriend is. It would have totally made my day even better. It's our anniversary today. Two years, eleven months. :]

Okay. This is like a super long post so I'm going to stop typing. The news just wants me to keep typing. On a bad note, Mark Finan [favorite weatherman ever] said that it's supposed to rain tomorrow. And Thursday.

Okay. Now i'm really going to go. Dinner's ready. Woot!

How different...?

I wish that people would rise above sterotypes. I wish that people would realize that people aren't just a skin color- and whatever associations are made with that. Just because I'm white doesn't mean I'm a racist person. I personally don't care what race people are. If I like you, I like you. If I don't, I just don't. It's not a race thing. It's a personality thing. Oh. I see. I get what MLK was talking about in his "I Have a Dream Speech." I just want to go on record and say that I completely agree with him about that. It would be his 80th birthday today.

We were watching this show about 1968. It was hosted by my favorite male newscaster. [Tom Brokaw] He's simply amazing. My favorite female newscaster is Lisa Ling. I've actually gotten to hear her speak. Twice. She's amazingly wonderful. Anyways, the show we were watching... After they talked about Bobby Kennedy being killed, I asked them how different would it be today if he hadn't of been killed? This is what we decided:
  1. Bobby Kennedy probably would have beat Nixon.
  2. Watergate wouldn't have happened.
  3. We might not have had W as a President.
  4. Then we wouldn't be in Iraq.
I think its strange that just one little incident could've changed the course of the future. They talk about that in Curious Case of Benjamin Button [which I didn't want to see but it was really good]. When Cate Blanchett gets into her accident, one little thing might have saved her leg. Like not being the last one to leave the building, paying attention when she crossed the street. Go think about that for a while. If you had been born a minute later, would you be a different person? If you had been born the day before or the day after, would you be some sort of psycho serial killer? I sincerely hope I wouldn't have been, but there's really no way to know.

And now my friends, it is time for Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.

Later,

First Entry...

So I finally have an official blog! Woot. Go me. Okay, so some background information on me: the name is Megan. Born in November 1991. I'm currently a senior in high school. Almost done with all of my college applications. I'm super stoked about that. My boyfriend of almost 3 years is in the US Army, he's an Infantryman. His specific job is a paratrooper. Yeah, he jumps out of planes. Which I don't really like, but somebody's gotta do it, right?

Which brings me to my next point... This blog will only have my true opinion-- not all that fluffy junk. I'll try to write exactly what I think- in the way I think it, so it might be slightly jumpy and kinda random. If it is, I'm kinda sorry. Not completely sorry, but not unapologetic.

So I'm kind of an insane multi-tasker. At this very moment, I'm watching NCIS [the new fave show], thinking about how to write an essay about Hamlet [didn't like it] for AP English, and doing a powerpoint for Advisory about my community service project. And doing this.

Today I was playing a game on MySpace. It was highly addicting. It's called Square. I don't recommend playing it unless you already don't have a life. But anways. My mom kinda went a little crazy about wanting to get me outside the house and in sunlight [ew]. So we went on a drive. And we ended up at Nugget Market in Davis. And then we went to the Davis arboretum. So I texted Tiff [one of the besties] so we could hang out. So we did. And I got to see Kalli. [haven't seen her since like September] and then silly me left my purse in Tiff's room, but of course I didn't realize this until I got all the way back home. So me and mom drove back and got my purse. I also kinda got addicted to this tea that we got at Nugget. It's called TeaJava. It's super tasty. But it's like 33 oz. So I drank like almost all of it and we were on the causeway. And I realllllllly had to pee. And so that kind of sucked.

But now I have to get back to my homework. And Desperate Housewives is on.

Later skaters!
